Nonviolent Dialog
Because your words impact your world.
based on the 4-step model of Nonviolent Communication developed by Marshall B. Rosenberg (www.cnvc.org)
Nonviolent Communication (NVC), A Language of Life, is applied compassion. The model, when used with discipline, will lead a practitioner into the heart of the matter, even when very upset or judgmental. Underlying this "grammar of life" is the understanding that everything someone does, says, or believes serves as a strategy to meet vital needs, an attempt to be true to the essential life force that flows through all of us.
However, we are not always in touch with the needs we mean to meet through our actions and attitudes. Struggle and conflict within ourselves or with one another arise when our solutions meet one set of needs while "un-meeting" another. Emotional and mental upsets are the result of -- often unconscious -- unmet needs.
Recognizing our true needs allows us to meet them much more easily, leading to increased well-being and joy. We know then to choose actions and attitudes based on being clear about the needs we intend to meet. The methodology of Nonviolent Communication (NVC) will unearth such underlying needs. Should, upon inquiry involving this methodology, a need be found "unmeetable" within our given circumstance, we allow ourselves to mourn and release our attachment to its fulfillment. In this way, we return to our inner freedom and heart-felt peace.
I feel like a thousand pound weight has been removed from my chest and after our talk on Sat, I've finally been able to sleep again. ️️️

resolve stuck issues & strengthen partnership
"Nora somehow magically creates an environment where, before you know it, you are inside the issues as safely as possible. She listens like a mind reader, interprets your words and feelings on the fly, gently returns perpective and understanding. You feel innocent and honest. Then helplessness gives away to a kind of burgeoning consciousness of what the issues really could be about and a way through appears. I don't know how to describe it. But I know that Nora is on your side, watching out for you, and seriously knows her stuff." - T.C., New York, 8/8/2014
